Maragogi

Maragogi needs 2 days: taking a glass-bottom boat out to the natural pools on the coral reef, visible only at low tide, on one, and touring Antunes and Xaréu beaches on the other. September-February brings the most favorable tides and driest weather. It's mid-to-upper priced, with boat trips as the main expense. Nicknamed the «Caribbean of Alagoas», it's part of the Costa dos Corais, the largest coral reef complex in the South Atlantic, and its natural pools -sandbanks ringed by coral just a meter deep- are among the most photographed in northeastern Brazil.
