Mendoza City

Mendoza needs 2 days: the city and its tree-lined plazas on one, and at least one winery with Andes mountain views on the other. March-May coincides with the grape harvest, the source of the National Grape Harvest Festival. Prices are affordable by international standards, though high-end winery tours can be pricey. It's the undisputed capital of Argentine wine, producing over 70% of the country's wine and the birthplace of Malbec, the varietal that put Argentina on the global wine map.
