Pinamar

Pinamar needs 3 days: the beach beside the pine forest that gives it its name on one end, a 4x4 dune excursion through Valeria del Mar or Cariló on the other. December-March is high season, with prices doubling compared to the rest of the year. It's expensive by Buenos Aires coast standards, with an upper-middle-class Buenos Aires profile since its founding in 1943. It was designed from scratch by architect Jorge Bunge, combining urban planning with an artificially planted pine forest to fix the dunes, a model later replicated in other resort towns in the area.
