Cariló

Cariló needs 2 days: walks through the pine, cypress and acacia forest covering the entire town, with no sidewalks or streetlights on much of its sandy streets, on one end, the private high-dune beach on the other. December-March is high season. It's the most expensive resort town on the Argentine coast, with high-end shops and one of the highest tree-per-resident densities in the country. It was designed in the 1930s to integrate architecture and native forest without felling a single mature tree, a design philosophy still in force today, explaining why no two houses are visible to each other.
