Founded in 1858, this is the oldest and most famous café in Buenos Aires. On Avenida de Mayo, its marble tables, stained glass and wood panelling welcomed Borges, Gardel and Alfonsina Storni. Today people come for breakfast or hot chocolate with churros in a room that seems frozen in time, with tango shows at night.
