Nadi

Nadi needs 3 days: the Sri Siva Subramaniya Hindu temple, the largest in the southern hemisphere, on one, and a boat excursion to the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands, with white sand beaches and coral reefs, for the remaining two. May-October brings the dry season. It's mid-to-high priced, with the nearby island resorts as the trip's main expense. It's the air gateway to all of Fiji, and its population, with a strong Indo-Fijian community descended from workers brought by the British Empire in the 19th century for sugar plantations, gives it a cultural mix unique in the Pacific, visible in its Hindu temple and cuisine.
