Biloxi

Biloxi needs 1 day: touring the Biloxi Lighthouse, standing since 1848 in the middle of the main avenue facing the Gulf of Mexico, and trying one of its coastal casinos, rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the same afternoon. March-May and October-November bring the mildest weather, avoiding the humid summer heat and hurricane peak. It's inexpensive for the US South. It was founded by French settlers in 1699, one of the oldest cities in the country, and its oyster and shrimp industry, inherited from Vietnamese immigrant communities who settled after the Vietnam War, made it a key fishing hub on the Gulf of Mexico.
