Fort Lauderdale needs 2 days: cruising the New River aboard the Jungle Queen Riverboat, which has toured the mansions of the so-called Venice of America since 1935, on one, and touring the city's over 265 km of navigable canals by car or kayak on the other. November-April is the dry season, with less humidity than summer. It's mid-to-upper priced for Florida, somewhat cheaper than Miami. It has more navigable canals than Venice, Italy, and its port -Port Everglades- is among the busiest cruise ports in the world, making it a common departure point before sailing to the Caribbean.
