Cabárceno needs 1 day: touring by car or park bus the 750 hectares of the Cabárceno Nature Park, with rhinos, elephants and bears roaming semi-freely, is the main reason to visit. April-October brings the mildest weather for a day outdoors. It's mid-to-upper priced for the park entrance. It's built inside a disused former open-pit iron mine, whose crater-and-rock-cut landscape -repurposed as habitat for over 100 species from around the world- created a unique setting that wouldn't exist without that earlier mining.
