Arrecife

Arrecife needs 3 days as a base for exploring all of Lanzarote, since the city itself can be seen in a few hours. March-November keeps the Canaries' stable climate, with trade winds softening the heat. Prices are among the lowest of the Canary Islands' main islands. Its appeal isn't the city itself but what surrounds it: it's the gateway to the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya and to the work of César Manrique, the artist who insisted no building on the island exceed the height of a palm tree.
