Llanes needs 2 days: touring the San Pedro promenade over the cliffs, with the Cubos de la Memoria painted by Agustín Ibarrola on the harbor breakwater, on one, and touring some of its more than 30 nearby beaches, many hidden between cliffs, on the other. June-September brings the best weather, though Asturian rain is never off the table. It's mid-to-upper priced in high season given its popularity among northern Spanish tourism. Its 'bufones,' natural rock chimneys that blast pressurized water with the tide, are an uncommon geological phenomenon that draws visitors even outside beach season.
