Tarifa

Tarifa can be explored in 2 days: the medieval old town takes a few hours, and the rest of the time goes to its white-sand beaches facing the Atlantic, continental Europe's southernmost point. May-September brings the easterly and westerly winds that made it the world capital of kitesurfing and windsurfing. Prices are moderate outside the strong-wind season, when demand from athletes pushes them up. Its geography is its biggest differentiator: on a clear day, Morocco's coast is visible just 14km away, across the Strait of Gibraltar.
