December-March is best for snow and auroras; June-July for the midnight sun. It's expensive, with the Christmas season as the absolute price peak. It's the official capital of Lapland and declared home of Santa Claus, with its Village receiving letters from children worldwide, and its location exactly on the Arctic Circle makes it one of the best spots on the planet to see northern lights between August and April.
