Tintagel takes half a day to see: the ruins of Tintagel Castle, on a rocky headland connected to the mainland by a footbridge opened in 2019, associated by legend with the birth of King Arthur, are the main reason to visit. May-September is best to avoid strong Atlantic winds. It's mid-priced for the site entrance. It's one of Cornwall's most dramatic coastal landscapes, with slate cliffs dropping straight into the sea and a cave at the base accessible only at low tide.
