Deauville

Deauville needs 1 day: Les Planches, a wooden boardwalk along the beach lined with cabins named after Hollywood stars who attended the town's American Film Festival, and the Belle Époque casino, on the same day. June-September is best for the beach. It's expensive by French standards. It became the fashionable seaside resort of the Parisian aristocracy in the late 19th century, and every September it still hosts the Deauville American Film Festival, one of the few European festivals devoted exclusively to American cinema.
