Dinan

Dinan takes 1 day to see: Rue du Jerzual, a steep cobblestone street lined with 15th- and 16th-century half-timbered houses that runs down from the walled old town to the port on the Rance river, is the main walk. April-September is best. It's inexpensive by French standards. It retains nearly 3 kilometers of complete medieval walls, among the best preserved in Brittany, with a ramparts walk offering views over the whole town and the Rance valley.
