Dingboche, at 4,410 meters, is the second major acclimatization stop on the Everest Base Camp trek, surrounded by some of the highest farming terraces in the world (potatoes and buckwheat) and with direct views of Ama Dablam. Trekkers stay here two nights, with a short altitude hike in between, almost always between March-May or September-November. The landscape is already high alpine — treeless, thin air — and the pace slows down considerably compared to the earlier stages of the trek.
