Wadi Musa needs 2 days, almost entirely dedicated to Petra: a full day for the main route (Treasury, Monastery) and another for the site's less-visited areas. March-May avoids the extreme heat of the Jordanian desert and occasional winter rain. Prices are high by regional standards, reflecting its role as the gateway to one of the Middle East's most visited sites. Petra, carved directly into rose-colored rock over 2,000 years ago by the Nabataeans, was named one of the 7 wonders of the modern world and continues to reveal new structures beneath the sand.
