Eilat needs 3 days: diving or snorkeling at Coral Beach Nature Reserve, with reefs accessible from shore, on one, an excursion to Timna National Park, with reddish rock formations, on another, and relaxing on the Red Sea beaches on the third. October-April is best, avoiding extreme desert summer heat. It's mid-to-high priced for Israel, with resort offerings. It's Israel's only outlet to the Red Sea, one of the most coral-biodiverse seas on the planet, and its desert climate with virtually no rain year-round made it the country's most popular sun-and-beach destination, especially in winter when the rest of Israel is cold.
