Moshi

Moshi is the base town for nearly every Kilimanjaro expedition: porters, guides and permits are all organized here before the climb, and on clear mornings the whole mountain is visible from downtown. It also serves as a jumping-off point for safaris in Tarangire and Arusha, a couple of hours away by car. January-March and June-October are the dry months, best both for the climb and for catching the snow-capped peak.
