Abuja needs 1 day: Aso Rock, a 400-meter granite outcrop dominating the city's skyline, and the National Mosque alongside the National Christian Centre, built almost facing each other as a symbol of religious coexistence, are the main reason to visit. November-March is best. It's mid-priced by international standards. It replaced Lagos as the capital in 1991 for being a more central and neutral location among the country's various ethnic and religious groups, and it's one of the few capitals in the world built entirely from scratch under a single urban plan.
