Hurghada needs 3 days, almost entirely dedicated to diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea, one of the world's best coral reef destinations. October-April avoids the extreme desert heat, though the sea is enjoyable nearly year-round. Prices are affordable for an international diving destination, with all-inclusive resorts cheaper than the Caribbean. Its coral reefs, just minutes from shore, offer marine biodiversity comparable to the Great Barrier Reef, something little known outside specialized diving circles.
