Cairo needs 3 days: the Pyramids of Giza on one, the Egyptian Museum and the Islamic quarter on another, and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar on the third. October-April avoids the extreme heat of the Egyptian desert, which easily tops 40°C in summer. It's one of the world's cheapest capitals for foreign tourists, with a very favorable exchange rate. It's the most populous city in Africa and the Arab world, and its proximity to the Pyramids of Giza — the only one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world still standing — makes it unique among all the world's capitals.
